Welcome to the Nubian Textiles Database.
The data presented in this platform are the outcome of a 2-years research project entitled “Nubian textiles: craft, trade, costume and identity in the medieval kingdom of Makuria”, conducted at the Institute of Oriental and Mediterranean Cultures of the Polish Academy of Sciences between September 2016 and June 2018, with a last part achieved after maternity leave in September-October 2019. The project has received funding from the National Science Centre, Poland (Polonez Grant UMO 2015/19/P/HS3/02100) and from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement n°665778.

Nubian Textiles project benefited from an innovative database program implemented by dr. Jadwiga Iwaszczuk (IKSiO PAN) within the frame of the prestigious DIALOG grant she obtained for her project “Modern documentation of the research of the Polish-Egyptian Archaeological and Conservation Mission in the Temple of Hatshepsut in Deir el-Bahari: creation, management, sharing”. I would like to express here my sincere gratitude for her help and guidance through the technical paths of this unexpected journey, for an archaeologist, into the IT world :) Many thanks also to SensiLabs team for their support and patient explanations to all my questions about DatabaseDigger.
