Spanish knot.

Six-petalled flowers patterns on a dark blue ground, bordered with colour bands. The carpet is framed by a row of small peacocks.


Warp: wool, Z spun, undyed, 11 threads/cm.
Weft: wool, Z spun, undyed, 6 picks/cm.
Pile: wool, Z spun, 1 blue, 2 green, yellow, red, brown; single warps knots on alternate warp threads, after each pair of weft threads; 6 knots per cm. vertically, 5.5 knots per cm. horizontally, 33 knots per square cm2.
