Find spot (context): Gebel Adda (Sudanese Nubia). Cemetery I, tomb 48 (A) (funerary). Field registration number: n.d. Museum textile number #12. The textile was wrapped around the body.

Dating: Post-Meroitic period.

Present location: Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto (Canada). Inventory number ROM 973.24.3400

Dimensions (in cm): 6x40; 6x32; 3x32; 2.5x45; 30x30; 25x27; 6x6.

Weave: Tabby

Decoration: Thin bands in cream and red. Twisted cord in yellow and red sewn to the selvedge. Decorative finishing border in yellow and purple strips with purple tassels.

Warp (fibre, twist, color, proportion):
- wool
- S spun
- brown
- 10-12 warps/cm

Weft (fibre, twist, color, proportion):
- wool
- S spun
- brown, cream, red
- 12-15 picks/cm (28 picks for bands in cream and red)

Other features: Finishing border type B3 (with twining and tassels). Reinforced selvedge type C2. Presence of wedges. Weft-twining threads are woollen, 2sZ.
