Textile fragment MAP 2010:70/37

Find spot (context): Es Sadda 1 (- a post-Meroitic cemetery, 4th Cataract Area). Tumulus 67 (funerary). Date of exploration: January-February 2007.

Dating: Post-Meroitic period.

Present location: Museum of Archaeology, Poznan (Poland). Inventory number 2010:70/37.

Dimensions (in cm): 6x5 (folded), 7.6x2.5 (folded)

Weave: Tabby, weft-faced tabby.

Decoration: Bands, cream on blue ground.

Warp (fibre, twist, color, proportion):
- wool
- S spun
- blue
- 10 warps/cm

Weft (fibre, twist, color, proportion):
- wool
- S spun
- blue, cream
- 10 picks/cm in tabby weave and 16 picks/cm in weft-faced tabby weave

Other features: Corded edge type A7. Fringed edge type B1. Length of the fringe 2.6cm. Reinforced selvedge type C2 (with 3 paired warps).
