Find spot (context): Gebel Adda (Sudanese Nubia). Trench 7 (F); sect. 2 south 2.45 (settlement). Field registration number: n.d. Museum textile number #146.

Dating: Ottoman period

Present location: Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto (Canada). Inventory number ROM 973.24.3517.

Dimensions (in cm): 18 x 19.

Weave: Weft-faced tabby.

Decoration: Blue and green bands on red ground, various width.

Warp (fibre, twist, color, proportion):
- cotton
- S (overspun)
- cream (undyed)
- 8 threads/cm

Weft (fibre, twist, color, proportion):
- wool
- S
- blue, green, red (thread dye)
- 27-30 picks/cm

Other features: Selvedge preserved, Types C1 and C2 (Bergman 1975): in the upper part of the fragment, the wefts go around a double warp, in the lower part of the same fragment a supplementary blue weft to the red one is applied as in tapestry technique.
