Textile fragments PAS 40/2007

Find spot (context): el Ar 3 necropolis (4th Cataract area), Tumulus 3 (funerary). Explored in December 2007. Textile found in the burial chamber.

Dating: Late/post-Meroitic.

Weave: Tabby.

Decoration: None.

Warp (fibre, twist, color, proportion):
- cotton
- S spun
- undyed
- 12 warps/cm

Weft (fibre, twist, color, proportion):
- cotton
- S spun
- undyed
- 8 picks/cm

Other features: Warp threads are thinner and stronger spun than wefts. Very regular and even piece.
