Textile fragment with cord PAS 42/2007

Find spot (context): el Ar 4 necropolis (4th Cataract area), Grave 9 (funerary). Explored in December 2007.

Dating: Christian.

Present location: Polish Academy of Sciences, Institute of Mediterranean and Oriental Cultures, Warsaw. Inv. 47/2007.

Dimensions (in cm): 9x6; cord is 4cm long.

Weave: Weft-faced tabby.

Decoration: None.

Warp (fibre, twist, color, proportion):

- undyed
- 11 warps/cm

Weft (fibre, twist, color, proportion):
- cotton

- 19 picks/cm

Other features: The fragment is a part of textile 27/2007. The cord is made from bast fibre, S2z, about 10 threads.
