Textile fragments PAS 2/2007 [b]

Find spot (context): el Ar 4 necropolis (4th Cataract area), Grave 1 (funerary). Explored in December 2007.

Dating: Christian.

Present location: Polish Academy of Sciences, Institute of Mediterranean and Oriental Cultures, Warsaw. Inv. 2/2007.

Dimensions (in cm): 3x2, 8x7, 9x2.5 (with dark brown wool threads - fringe?)

Weave: Weft-faced tabby.

Decoration: Bands?

Warp (fibre, twist, color, proportion):
- wool
- S spun
- brown
- 5 warps/cm

Weft (fibre, twist, color, proportion):
- wool
- S spun
- light brown
- 22 picks/cm

Other features: Fringe with wollen dark brown threads and also a light brown thicker one, about 8 cm long. Corded edge type A7? or B2.
